Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan released the book “A Century of Service – The RSS in 100 Acts of Seva,” authored by former Governor of Telangana and former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, at Uprashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, on September 15, 2026. The Vice President stated that the book documents the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's (RSS) century-long service, its social responsibility, and its contribution to nation-building, citing the organization's role in providing essential support during the COVID-19 pandemic. He emphasized that the book reflects India’s tradition of 'seva' and highlights the importance of patriotism, discipline, and national unity for nation-building.

Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, today released a commemorative postage stamp in honour of Sant Malukdas Ji, issued by the Department of Posts, Government of India. The stamp, released on September 15, 2026, aims to connect the saint's message of devotion, knowledge, compassion, and public welfare with the national memory, coinciding with the inauguration of Shri Ram Katha. Shri Scindia emphasized India's progress in economic development alongside deep cultural confidence, linking it to the preservation of spiritual and cultural heritage.

Shri Vivek Aggarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Culture, today inaugurated a one-month Induction Training Programme for 53 newly recruited Senior Conservation Assistants and Conservation Assistants at the Institute of Archaeology, Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Campus, Greater Noida. The Department of Higher Education (DoHE), Union Ministry of Education, has reported significant progress under Special Campaign 5.0, reviewing 95.2% (2,04,859) of physical files and 87.46% (62,564) of e-files. This initiative, which concluded recently, resulted in freeing 14,44,839 sq. ft. of office space and generating ₹6.89 crore through scrap disposal. The DoHE is now gearing up for Special Campaign 6.0, scheduled from October 2 to 31, 2026, with a preparatory phase commencing today, September 15, 2026, which will emphasize 'effective collection, segregation and disposal of e-waste.'

A team from the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA), led by Member (Administration & Finance) Shri Saurabh Agrawal, reviewed the implementation of the Dam Safety Act, 2021, and dam safety activities in Jharkhand on September 8-9, 2026. The review, conducted with the Secretary, Water Resources Department, Government of Jharkhand, focused on the status of Comprehensive Dam Safety Evaluation (CDSE) of specified dams. NDSA emphasized the need for expeditious constitution of the Independent Panel of Experts (IPoE) and timely submission of CDSE reports.

The Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, organized an Officer-Level Awareness Workshop on Tele-Law Services under the DISHA 2.0 Scheme at Mini Secretariat, Nuh, Haryana, on September 15, 2026. Chaired by Joint Secretary Shri Suresh Kumar, the workshop aimed to enhance awareness and strengthen coordination among 150 participants, including SDM Nuh, CSC representatives, and Panel Lawyers, for delivering legal assistance in rural and underserved areas. The DISHA 2.0 Scheme integrates Tele-Law, Nyaya Bandhu, Legal Literacy and Legal Awareness Programme (LLLAP), and VIDHI-Sanjeevani to advance access to justice.

A team from the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA), led by Shri Saurabh Agrawal, Member (Administration & Finance), NDSA, reviewed the implementation of the Dam Safety Act, 2021, and dam safety activities in Jharkhand on September 8, 2026. The NDSA emphasised the need for expeditious constitution of the Independent Panel of Experts (IPoE), timely completion of Comprehensive Dam Safety Evaluation (CDSE) reports, and the preparation of dam-wise action plans for the State. Instructions were also issued for the timely preparation of Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Manuals, along with strengthening the State Dam Safety Organisation (SDSO) as a dedicated entity.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah stated on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, that the ruling BJP should introduce the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill through Parliament rather than through individual states or 'backdoor' methods. Abdullah questioned the feasibility of nationwide implementation, citing disagreement among NDA allies like the Janata Dal (United) on the matter. He emphasized that a law of such national importance should be decided by Parliament, representing the country as a whole.
